About Hope

Some people grow up afraid of things that go bump in the night. Hope Welborn grew up wanting to write about them.

A lifelong resident of northeast Georgia, Hope has been telling stories since childhood and knew from the third grade that writing wasn’t just a hobby—it was the calling she couldn’t shake.

Today, she writes romantic suspense filled with danger, faith, emotional depth, and just enough small-town Southern charm to make readers feel right at home…until everything goes terribly wrong.

As a #writerwithadayjob, Hope spends her days working full-time in digital content marketing technology, a job that uses the analytical part of her brain. And when the workday ends, she engages the creative, artistic side of her brain to blend pulse-pounding suspense with relatable characters, heartfelt relationships, and the kind of hope that shines brightest in dark places. Whether she’s writing about investigators chasing the truth, ordinary people thrust into extraordinary circumstances, or families carrying long-buried secrets, Hope loves creating stories that keep readers turning pages long past bedtime.

Hope has taught classes at writers conferences and served the writing community through organizations like American Christian Fiction Writers, including five years on the board of ACFW North Georgia and a term as president. She is also a member of Faith, Hope, & Love Christian Writers and the Suspense Squad, a group a romantic suspense authors. Her manuscripts have won the ACFW Genesis Contest and the Blue Ridge Mountains Christian Writers Conference Foundations Awards. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Georgia and is represented by Tamela Hancock Murray of the Steve Laube Agency.

Drawing on her skills from over two decades in digital content, Hope serves as a co-owner, editor, and technology & design manager for Spark Flash Fiction, an online magazine for clean, romantic stories of 1000 words or less.

When she’s not writing dangerous situations for fictional characters, Hope enjoys drawing, singing, playing piano and organ, and spending time at her family’s farm in northeast Georgia—where the quiet countryside is perfect for dreaming up mysteries with a Southern twist.

If you love suspense with heart, romance threaded with danger, and stories grounded in faith and hope, you’re in the right place.
